With over 20 years of experience as an English teacher, I spent countless hours grading essays every school year. When ChatGPT became publicly available, I began experimenting with AI and taught myself the art of prompt engineering. Soon, I asked myself: How can I leverage this technology to make my job easier? That question led me to start consulting with schools and districts, introducing them to the power of AI while gathering feedback on a product idea I envisioned—one designed to simplify the workflow for assigning and grading student essays. This vision became Essay Eye: a tool to transform how educators manage grading, empowering them to focus more on teaching and student success.

Thanks to my wife, our extended family, and good friends I was able to surround myself with a team that believed in Essay Eye as much as I did.
